October is National Women’s Small Business Month. Though the month is coming to an end, women in small businesses are still to be admired. They are following their dreams, opening businesses, and enjoying the satisfaction and successes of being a woman-owned business.
This week’s business spotlight shines on Tammy McCoy and Tamara Bills McCoy, owners of Ritter’s Frozen Custard-Clermont, located in the Hancock Village Shopping Center at 2560 East Highway 50, Ste #114.
Ritter’s has long been the local, after school delight for kids and parents alike.
Ritter’s celebrated its 16th anniversary this month with a full day of family fun. Members of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce hosted an anniversary ribbon cutting to kick off the event.
Tammy and Tamara moved to Clermont and purchased Ritter’s, believing it would provide the family more time together. It was the perfect family business. Who wouldn’t want to work in an ice cream parlor and sample a wide variety of ice cream every day?
Dogs are always welcome on a leash, for a free small cup of custard with a bone treat on top.
Ritter’s of Clermont takes the party on the road. The business has two trailers and a portable cold plate cart that doesn’t require electricity to offer on-site services for pool parties, community events, school events, sports events, fundraisers.
Tammy, Tamara and family are great community partners. When the need arises, they are there. They note, “We are really very proud of our staff’s amazing abilities to provide quality services, personalized friendliness to every customer and their ongoing hard-working efforts.
