CLERMONT (November 23, 2020) – The Clermont Police Department is seeking out any information from the public regarding a fatal hit and run accident involving an unknown vehicle and a pedestrian, identified as Ms. Dianne Craig, a Clermont resident.  Ms. Craig, aged 74 years, was a long-time Clermont resident and an employee of a local restaurant, who left behind two (2) daughters, one (1) step-daughter, nine (9) grandchildren and nine (9) great-grandchildren.

The accident occurred in the area of State Road 50 and Grand Hwy. At approximately 1817hrs, Clermont Police Officers responded to the area of SR 50 and Grand Hwy in reference to a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed a female lying in the roadway. The vehicle left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. The hit and run vehicle is described a dark colored passenger car with front-end damage. The suspect vehicle was last seen headed eastbound on SR 50. Unfortunately, the victim has succumbed to the injuries received in accident.
