Since 1997, the Kiwanis Club of Clermont has organized Christmas displays around Center Lake, Clermont. This fundraiser is held with all proceeds going to fund community youth projects in the South Lake County area. This year, Kiwanis members began decorating the day after Thanksgiving and the twinkling display will be lit during the Light Up Clermont 2020 activities beginning on December 4.

No light-up ceremony is scheduled for the Kiwanis Light Up Around Center Lake this year due to the Coronavirus but the lights are set to twinkle throughout the holiday season and can be viewed around Center Lake (Hwy 50 and 8th Street & West Avenue).

Clermont’s 2020 holiday theme is The Enchanted Forest. The events will kick off with a Virtual Light Up Ceremony on December 4, an Enchanted Forest of Trees at Victory Pointe on December 5 through January 3, 2021, and a Cookies and Cocoa Walk on December 11 in downtown Clermont.

Kiwanis Club Member Del Brandt was recently thanked by his fellow Kiwanis members for his volunteer hours to the community and his dedication to the Light Up project,

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the members haven’t been able to fundraise and are hoping that they will receive the needed contributions to make this year’s Center Lake project a success. It is seeking support and sponsorship.  Become a sponsor of Kiwanis Light Up Center Lake.  Contact Del Brandt (352)242-6147 or for further information, visit KIWANISCLUBOFCLERMONT
