The Clermont Police Department is investigating a crash with serious bodily injuries.  Initial investigation indicates that a vehicle struck two passengers after they had exited their vehicle.  Both were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

At approximately 7:09 PM, the Clermont Police Department and Clermont Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the area of US Hwy. 27 and Roper Blvd for a crash involving two apparent pedestrians.  Clermont Police Officers and EMS quickly arrived and began to provide emergency medical services.  Initial investigation indicates that a black colored car struck a white colored car that was traveling southbound on US Hwy. 27 and Roper Blvd.  When the vehicles came to rest, two passengers exited the black colored car and stood by it in the roadway.  At this time, a third vehicle traveling southbound on US Hwy. 27 struck the two passengers causing serious bodily injuries.  They were transported by EMS to ORMC, both in critical condition.

The driver of the white car was not treated for injuries while on scene.  The driver of the third vehicle, a passenger truck, was transported by EMS for apparent minor injuries.  The passenger of the truck was not treated for injuries while on scene.  The driver of the black vehicle and a third passenger were not treated for injuries while on scene.

All parties involved are cooperating with Clermont Police Traffic Investigators.  This is an active case early in its investigation.  More information will be provided when available.
