The Florida Department of Health in Lake County (DOH-Lake) will begin administering second dose immunizations on January 26, 2021. Persons who received their first dose with DOH-Lake will receive a call with site and appointment information. Second dose recipients must present photo identification and the CDC vaccination card provided to them during their first dose vaccination.

Moderna second dose appointments will be scheduled beginning January 26 through January 28, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Second dose appointments for the Pfizer vaccine will be scheduled beginning February 2 through Feb. 4, 2021 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.  If you are not contacted by the due date on your card provided at your appointment, please call (352) 268-9299.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendation states that persons should get their second shot as close to the recommended 3-week or 1-month interval as possible. However, there is no maximum interval between the first and second doses for either vaccine and you should not get the second dose earlier than the recommended interval.

In accordance with this recommendation, DOH-Lake is working to prioritize second dose appointments and request your patience as we await allocations. First dose distribution will continue when DOH-Lake receives its next allotment of vaccines from the state and an immunization site is identified.

For questions, please call the DOH-Lake COVID-19 Hotline at (352) 268-9299 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
