East Ridge High School “Knights of Aeronautics”

The Real World Design Challenge (RWDC) is an annual high school competition with the goal of increasing the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) workforce.

Schools across the State of Florida competed in a state-level Governor’s Cup. Seven students from East Ridge High School known as the “Knights of Aeronautics” captured the 2021 Real World Design Governor’s Cup after defeating 2,272 Florida schools.

Congratulations to Lisa Craglio, Adam Riemer, Amir Taylor, Chiara Smith, Isabella Perez, Moriah Langford, and Zachary Zuniga and instructor John Raulerson.

The Knights of Aeronautics, led by instructor John Raulerson, will compete virtually on April 24, 2021, against teams from across the nation as well as international student teams from China, India, and the Philippines for the World Championship title.

At a recent city council meeting, Clermont Mayor Tim Murry congratulated the “Knights of Aeronautic” and their instructor John Raulerson on their prestigious achievement and, on behalf of all the residents of Clermont, wished them continued success on their quest to successfully represent the state.
