Precision Integrative Medicine celebrated its official grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the South Lake Chamber of Commerce. Clermont Mayor Tim Murry, South Lake Chamber of Commerce President David Colby, Chamber Ambassadors, friends, family and guests attended the grand opening.
Dr. Dustin L. Vaughan is a native Floridian; born and raised on the Space Coast. He and his wife Shauna have lived in Central Florida for the past 12 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Health Studies and a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine. He is a licensed Florida State Paramedic, a NCCAOM Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and a Florida State Acupuncturist. He has a variety of certifications including Chinese Herbal Compounding & Safety, Facial Movement Taping, Advanced Movement Specialties, Reiki Master and Sports Nutrition.
Vaughan was a firefighter for 11 years and he is a certified paramedic. He was first a paramedic in emergency departments and trauma centers for 15 years, including Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital. He retired from the fire service to study integrative medicine. He blends his experience in Western medicine and emergency medicine with alternative approaches for a healthy holistic approach. Vaughan has extra experience being an athlete and coach with baseball, football, surfing and powerlifting. One of his specialties is in integrative sports medicine, to help keep his patients healthy with movement and full mobility.
Precision Integrative Medicine: Vaughan shares, “I retired from the fire service to pursue a dream of blending my experience in western medicine with eastern medicine to provide an integrative, holistic approach to health and wellness. I enjoy working with athletes, while providing healthcare to help them achieve their goals, maintain wellness and recover from injuries to perform at their best. However, my practice is not exclusive to athletes because injuries and the need for mobility are not exclusive to athletes. My background and certifications emphasize movement and mobility, which can be a concern for anyone at any age. In addition to traditional Chinese Medicine including acupuncture and herbology, my practice includes cupping, homeopathic injection therapies, facial rejuvenation, energy work with Reiki and Qi Gong, Kinesiology taping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization as well as pre-and post-surgical therapies.
