Past president Toni Bell-Rescoe and her board were installed via ZOOM

Toni Bell Rescoe, Beta Theta’s 2020-2021 President, had a memorable year. She was installed on Zoom and held all of the meetings in front of her computer due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She will attest to the fact that it wasn’t easy keeping the members engaged and intact but, due to the loving bond of sisterhood, Beta Theta fought through the new normal.

As Toni’s year came to an end this April, she graciously welcomed the members to her home for dinner, awards ceremony, and installation of Officers. It may have been bittersweet for her to host an installation dinner, since only a year before, her installation was a 35-minute Zoom. It must have also been difficult for her to postpone Beta Theta’s Annual Mardi Gras Celebration, its annual signature fundraiser, as well as its Christmas Social, the highly anticipated event of the year.

Beta Theta was chartered in 1979 at an ESA State meeting. It has remained active in the South Lake Community since then. Toni Bell Rescoe, Eleanor Lofgren and Terry Moherek are the three remaining active founders of the Chapter. Michelle Delaney remains a charter member.

Toni Bell Rescoe received a scrapbook created by Terry Moherek with lots of ZOOM.

This year’s chapter’s theme, chosen by incoming Beta Theta’s president, is “Dreamers”
