Mix a dash of the spiritual, a teaspoon of creativity and pour in a heaping cup full of education helped along by two lovely ladies and get ready to “B Charmed.” and wowed by the selection of items and artwork.
Located at 205 W. Washington Street in Minneola, B Charmed is operated by a mother and daughter duo that wants to provide ethically and responsibly sourced materials and tools for spiritual and artistic practices.
Sunnie Meadows (mother) is a Christian and her daughter Becca Irvin is a self-proclaimed Eclectic Pagan, not Wiccan. B Charmed provides a multitude of items for most belief systems and paths including books and statuary items, as well as candles, soaps, incense and crystals for the spiritual side.
Sunnie recently retired as an educator after 27 years in the school systems as well as an interior designer and artist. Becca worked in customer service for 8 years. Both want to share their personal experiences from their journeys through the spiritual universe.
“I’ve always encouraged my daughters to follow their own ways. I consider myself a Christian who is spiritually open,” said Meadows. She went on to state that she’s learned a lot from Becca about the differences between paganism and Christianity and the fact that all religions share many of the same things.
Their goal is to educate the public and provide a safe zone within the community for folks who want to find themselves spiritually and/or artistically.
There is much that they offer the artistic side such as specialized earth-friendly paint, brushes and finishes along with “funky things for your home, canvas art, cool jewelry and other eclectic items. They also plan to offer workshops and events in the future.
“B Charmed started as a pipe dream for Becca when she began to embrace her path and dive deeper into the craft,” said Sunnie Meadows. Meadows continued “she wanted a safe hub for herself and others to be able to express their beliefs and be able to get the materials they needed without judgment or ridicule.”
Becca has been practicing paganism for 8 years; ”dad passed in 2013 and I needed a connection to the universe and needed just to be myself. “I felt connected when I discovered paganism and I formed my own pagan path,” she said.
Sunnie added, “my kids were raised to have their own belief systems…once I educated myself, I came to understand Becca’s beliefs and it broadened me as a person.” She stated that their morals and idealism are the same.
“B Charmed is a shop, yes. But what it stands for is much more. We want to shine light on the misunderstood and beautiful paths that so often get mocked, are feared, or judged. Love and acceptance doesn’t and shouldn’t have rules, and neither does B Charmed,” Irvin said.
The store hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 am to 7 pm. Their phone number is 352-404-7200 and they have a neat website located at www.bcharmedllc.com
