Kroger is an American retail company founded by Bernard Kroger in 1883 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Over the years, it has grown to become one of the largest supermarkets in the United States. Ocado is one of the world’s largest online grocery retailers using advanced robotics technology.
Kroger and Ocado formed a strategic relationship and were able to apply advanced robotics technology with creative online /delivery solutions to redefine the customer shopping experience.
Groveland was chosen as the second location for one of their Customer Fulfillment Centers (CFC). Monroe, Ohio was the first.
On July 24, 2019, Kroger/Ocado held a groundbreaking ceremony to begin construction on the 350,000 sq ft Customer Fulfillment Center. A lot of dirt was moved to create the groundwork for the cutting-edge, e-commerce facility located at 7925 American Way, Groveland.
On May 26, 2021, Kroger hosted an open house to celebrate its opening with members of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Kroger FC03 Groveland will serve as the main Hub for the state of Florida.
The facility will support local delivery to customers in a 90-minute radius, utilizing Kroger Delivery vans. It will also fulfill upcoming spoke locations in Tampa and Jacksonville.
Customers will be able to order on Kroger.com and Kroger will deliver purchases directly to customers in temperature-controlled vans.
