The City Of Minneola Proclaiming June As Safe Driving Month And Asks Its Residents To Take The Safe Driving Pledge

June has been proclaimed as Save Driving Month in the City of Minneola. Residents are encouraged to sign the Safe Driving Pledge promising to focus on driving safely all month long. Obeying the speed limit, stopping at stop signs, and staying focused while driving makes a difference.

The City will be giving out a $25 gift card to a Minneola restaurant to five Minneola residents chosen randomly from those that sign the pledge and turn it in before June 10^th.

A PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MINNEOLA, FLORIDA, PROCLAIMING JUNE 2021, AS SAFE DRIVING MONTH IN THE CITY OF MINNEOLA AND ENCOURAGING RESIDENTS TO TAKE THE SAFE DRIVING PLEDGE.

WHEREAS, safe communities are essential to everyone’s quality-of-life; and,

WHEREAS, safe driving habits improve the health, safety, and welfare of everyone m Minneola; and,

WHEREAS, it is everyone’s responsibility to operate their vehicle in a safe and courteous manner; and,

WHEREAS, safe driving should be a top priority for everyone operating a vehicle on area highways, subdivision streets, and even parking lots; and,

WHEREAS, the Minneola City Council wishes to encourage motorists to drive safely within the City; and,

WHEREAS, irresponsible driving, including speeding within Minneola’s subdivisions, creates an unsafe condition for the community, and creates fear, anxiety, and anger among our neighbors and friends; and,

WHEREAS, the last day of school in Lake County is June 4^th and Minneola’s children will be participating in summer activities within their neighborhoods and local parks; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Minneola is Central Florida’s Choice of Families and the safety of our the children within our community is important to us all; and,

WHEREAS, citizens are encouraged to sign the Safe Driving Pledge and drive safely throughout the City of Minneola during the month of June 2021 for the good of our community; and,

WHEREAS, the Safe Driving Pledge includes a promise to Wear a Seatbelt, Obey Traffic Control Devices, Focus on Driving and Avoid Multitasking, Practice Defensive Driving, Maintain a Safe Separation Distance, Drive Sober and Alert, and be Patient and Courteous.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor Pat Kelley, by the virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby proclaim June 2021 as Safe Driving Month, in the City of Minneola.
