Just Love Coffee Cafe celebrated its grand opening on June 26. The South Lake Chamber of Commerce hosted the ribbon cutting.

Mayor Tim Murry and Clermont Police Department Rep were there to welcome Chris “CJ2K” Johnson, owner of Just Love Coffee Cafe to Clermont.

Johnson is a retired NFL running back, born in Orlando. He played football at Olympia High School, Orlando and attended East Carolina University. He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft.  He ran for more than a thousand yards in each of his six seasons with the Titans. Johnson later played for the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals. (i Just Wonder…Is Coffee the key to Johnson’s awesome career?)

General Manager Darren Goodrich proudly describes how Johnson and he were actively involved in every aspect of the development of the cafe from the beginning to grand opening. He pointed out the mural of Chris sipping coffee with Kaldi, the founder of coffee.

Legend says that Ethiopian goat herder Kaldi first discovered the potential of the beloved coffee bean plant around 850 AD. The story goes that that Kaldi noticed that his goats became more energetic and did not want to sleep at night after chewing on the berries from certain plants. Word spread of the energizing bean. The beans were roasted, taken from the fire ground up, and dissolved in hot water. A cup of coffee remains a very popular morning eye-opener throughout the world.

The cafe offers coffees (Lattes, Frappes, Espressos, Chai), teas, smoothies, as well as breakfast burritos, artisan waffles, Womelette, roast beef & cheddar melts, grilled Italian Caprese, salads and lots more.
