President Biden’s goal of 70 percent of adults receiving at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine by the 4th of July wasn’t achieved but Americans are still in better shape than there were last year. However, The U.S is still struggling to achieve herd immunity by vaccination and the highly transmissible delta variant of covid-19 is on the rise. Hospitals across the nation are reporting a rise in the number of new admissions driven by the delta variant.
Sixty-four percent of Americans over 12 years old have received at least one vaccine dose but there will be a spread of the covid variant unless more people are vaccinated.
As the delta variant continues to spread across the country, 30% of people in the United States are still not vaccinated and could get infected with the highly contagious Covid variant.
