South Lake Republican Club presented a check for $2,500 to help fund the newly created Fire Chief Carle L. Bishop Scholarship for Firefighter/EMT.

The Kiwanis Club of South Lake, led by its president Ann Whitlock, has been developing this scholarship to match its well-established Officer Conrad Buckley Scholarship legacy for Police Academy scholars. The candidates are selected and/or approved by their respective departments.

Long-time resident,  Bill Siegenthaler, President of the Republican Club, spoke to the Kiwanis and explained why their club has adopted a “service organization” philosophy and a new approach to contributing to its community.
Presenting to the club were businessmen Taylor Yarkosky, attorney Brett Jones, and Republican Club President Bill Siegenthaler.
