The Lake-Sumter State College Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the 2021 Distinguished Alumni Awards & LSSC Hall of Fame.

These awards honor alumni, community members, and faculty and staff, who have made outstanding contributions through professional, academic and community service not only to the college but also to the community as a whole.

“So many of our over 25,000 alumni and friends are making positive and lasting impacts in our community and beyond,” says Dr. Laura Byrd, Senior VP of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the LSSC Foundation. “We encourage our alumni and friends to submit nominations that recognize alumni and community partners for their passion, dedication, and contributions to society.”

The nomination form is available at LSSC.edu/alumnihof and should be submitted no later than Friday, August 13 at 5:00 p.m. 

Nominations are being accepted for the following awards:

Distinguished Alumni 

  • Community Engagement Award
  • GOLD Award (Graduate of the Last Decade)
  • Heart of A Volunteer Award
  • Professional Achievement Award
  • Scholar Award
  • Valor Award

Hall of Fame

  • LSSC Faculty/Staff Award
  • LSSC Trustee Award
  • LSSC Athletics Award

The LSSC Foundation and Alumni Association will announce recipients and host a celebration this fall.
