The Procurement Department has been awarded the prestigious 26th Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) for 2021 from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI).

“The City of Clermont’s mission statement includes providing exceptional services to our residents.” Interim City Manager Scott Davidoff said. “Our Procurement Department continues to uphold that mission and show why our staff are Champions too.”

The AEP Award is earned by public and non-profit agencies that demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence. Criteria include innovation, professionalism, productivity, leadership and e-procurement. The City of Clermont is one of only 182 agencies in the United States and Canada and one of only 64 cities to receive the award.

“We’re happy to have the opportunity to earn this award again,” City of Clermont Procurement Director Freddy Suarez said. “I’m proud of staff and the city’s accomplishments as we serve our residents.”

The Procurement Services Department is responsible for the procurement of all goods and services in a manner that is ethical, impartial, open, fair, honest, and in accordance with policies, procedures and laws. The department administers all requests for bids and proposals.
The department has previously won this award in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2020. They did not apply for the award in 2017 or 2019.
