The Animal League

Whoever said 13 is unlucky? The Animal League is extremely happy to announce that its favorite Halloween tradition, the “Howl-O-ween Pet Parade and Costume Contest”, is being held on Halloween (October 31). This highly anticipated parade is a family-friendly event that community pet owners look forward to each year, for the past 13 years.

Cleverly costumed canines, cats and their humans march a parade route in downtown Clermont. Please note all types of animals are welcome to participate including but not limited to goats, chickens, lizards, rabbits, pigs, llamas, komodo dragons, we’re all about showing off our pets! We are honored to be the featured entertainment during the Clermont Farmer’s Market in City Hall Park. We will have live entertainment including Rhubarb the Bear! And, of course, our judges will be well-known members of our local community.

In addition to the parade, activities include the costume contest, judging, and an awards ceremony. Costume categories include Funniest, Cutest, Most Unusual, Best Team (Pet & Owner), TAL Alumni and, new this year – if you or your pet does not want to participate in the costume contest or judging, you can register to just participate in the parade!

Pre-registration is $15 (for one costume category – $5 for each additional category) and will be taking place every Sunday in October during the Clermont Farmer’s Market in front of the Thrift Shop. For each pet pre-registered, you will receive a coupon to The Animal League Thrift Shop good for $2 off a minimum $5 purchase good through October 31, 2021. On the day of the parade, entry fee is $20 for one costume category and $5 for each additional category. Participation in the parade only is $5 per pet.

“Some pet owners spend the entire summer planning their Howl-O-Ween costumes for their pets, and it shows,” said Vicky Manus, volunteer with The Animal League. “Each year I continue to be amazed as pets and their humans join the parade in such creative costumes. It’s definitely a wonderful way to support The Animal League right here in downtown Clermont.”

There are multiple levels of sponsorships available as there is something for every Animal League supporter!  We hope that you are interested in joining our efforts to show our respect, admiration and support for our animals.
