The Clermont Police Department (CPD) hosted the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics Florida on Tuesday, October 26, at the Special Olympics Florida Headquarters, 1915 Don Wickham Drive, Clermont.

The symbolic torch was brought in from overseas and passed from each Law Enforcement agency within the state of Florida. Over 5,000 officers carry the torch on a 1,500-mile relay run throughout 67 counties in Florida.

The main objective of the 3.2 mile walk/run is to promote awareness and raise funds for Special Olympics and persons with special needs.
