2020 First Prize Winner

Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter hosts its third annual playhouse build competition, Jingle Build-Off, on Saturday, December 4,  As the largest playhouse build to date, 13 playhouses will be gifted to selected children in the community.

Teams will be competing to build the best playhouse from 9 am – 3 pm in Downtown Tavares. Families will arrive at Tavares Square at 3 pm to view their playhouse for the first time and meet the teams who built and designed their playhouse for them.

The playhouses will be on display in the heart of the Tavares Christmas Parade and Celebration and will stay on display for one week, allowing community members to vote for their favorite playhouse. Playhouses will be delivered to the locally selected families just in time for the holidays.

Playhouse builds not only provide a special gift to a family during the holiday season, but funds raised go to build Habitat homes in Lake and Sumter Counties throughout the year!

Tavares Christmas Celebration and Parade will be held at 3 pm. in Tavares Square. There will be live entertainment, Snow “ice skating”, pictures with Santa and dozens of food vendors.
