On a chilly December 4, The South Lake Elks Club’s annual Lighted Boat Parade was held on Clermont’s Chain of Lakes. The floating parade began at sunset and circled Lake Minnehaha and then Lake Minneola.

Parade organizer Mendy Bacon noted, “The parade continues to get better and better each year. This year, nearly 100 boats participated! Funds from this event go to ChristmasAcross South Lake, a project purposed to give over 2,500 needy kids, RIGHT HERE IN SOUTH LAKE COUNTY, a joyful Christmas. It’s a magical thing that is dear to us at The South Lake Elks Lodge”.

The event raised nearly $1,800 from donations and participation fees. Prizes were awarded to the 5 best-decorated boats.
