For close to 20 years, during the Christmas holiday, Beta Theta-ESA members have visited Leisure Manor, a senior care facility, bringing personalized gifts and food for the residents.  Last year, due to the COVID-19 virus epidemic, the traditional visit was restricted, but Beta Theta members still continued to make arrangements for every resident at the facility to receive a gift.

This year, Leisure Manor is under new management; the name has changed to Minneola Place, the location remains the same (310 South Main Avenue, Minneola) and COVID visitation restrictions are still being enforced.

Beta Theta members had a difficult time arranging their normal traditional Christmas visit to the facility. And because of the restrictions, the staff had Beta Theta leave gifts on the doorsteps with the assurance that each resident would receive his/her Christmas gift. Sandie Stacy, Beta Theta President, said “We would have enjoyed visiting with the residents but it’s better safe than sorry. Hopefully, next year we’ll be able to visit with our friends at Minneola Place.”
