Even in the midst of a pandemic, Lake Technical College continues to train students for essential jobs in Lake County and Central Florida. We celebrate 532 students who have graduated with career & technical certificates in 2021 and an additional 56 graduates that have received their State of Florida high school diplomas.  Lake Tech also ranked third in the state for the most industry certifications earned by technical college students, with an impressive 347 advanced certifications earned. Our graduates are eager to serve the community and they play a dynamic role in our local workforce. These new employees are able to fill critical positions such as firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement officers, patient care technicians, practical nurses, manufacturers, diesel technicians, and many more.

“Lake Technical College provides real-world, hands-on training to prepare students for immediate employment or to articulate their career certificate to college credit and build upon their skills. During the pandemic, our student’s passion to succeed has been relentless and they are not only prepared to work, but they have also gained the vital critical thinking skills needed to work in a crisis”, Mrs. DeAnna Thomas, Executive Director. Lake Tech created a safe training environment from the onset of the pandemic which has resulted in 91% of our graduates being employed on the day they graduate! “When you look at postsecondary education enrollment declines across the state, I couldn’t be more proud of the Lake Tech students, faculty, and staff for these completion and job placement outcomes. Lake Tech is maintaining pre-pandemic enrollment rates and we continue to be the pipeline for local workforce needs.”

Lake Technical College offers 32 career education programs. Most of our career training programs allow individuals to learn essential job skills in less than a year and we are currently enrolling for the spring term.
