On Saturday, January 15 from 11 am-4 pm, a grand kickoff of the “Murals on The Trail” project will begin! You and yours are invited to become part of the project installation by painting your handprint onto the walls along with other members of the Minneola and South Lake Communities. The more, the merrier!

Enjoy live music, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks and more. The festival is FREE and will be held in Minneola’s Trailhead Park. The campaign to put handprints on the Trail is a fundraiser. Bring friends and family to support the arts in Minneola and place your handprint on the wall; the fee is $20 per person or $50 for a family (up to 5 people per family).

Minneola Artworx is a group of local arts advocates whose mission is to create an arts scene that brings the town together and encourages the growth of local businesses in Minneola that is supported and funded by public and private partnerships.

The group is still seeking student and adult artists to create family-friendly murals that express the spirit (essence, heart, soul) of the community.

What do you envision when you think of Minneola? Exercise on the Trail? Local wildlife? Beautiful sunsets over the lakes? Delicious donuts? The diversity of its citizenry? The ideas are endless.

Get to choose and submit your artwork. Approximately twenty murals will be placed on the exterior walls of the Highway 27 overpass on the Minneola section of the South Lake Trail.

It’s not too late for artists, young and old, to submit mural proposals. The deadline is January 15, 2022. Go to the Minneola Artworx website: www.minneolaartworx.org, for more information and to download submission forms.

All artwork must be original. The walls vary in size, and artists are strongly encouraged to visit the site prior to submitting their proposals. No logos, words, names or numbers can appear in the designs. No prior art experience is needed.
