Dr. Stanley Sidor, the president of Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) recently met with the Cooper Memorial Library Association Board to discuss the working relationship between LSSC, Cooper Memorial Library and other partnerships.

Exciting News:

Cafe Dupee, located on campus, will soon reopen and have a new food venue.

Pinecrest Lakes Middle High is in the process of using a portion of the LSSC main campus site for a 6th through 12th-grade school. The property is currently used for the Lake Sumter College Campus and the Cooper Memorial Library.

Lake-Sumter State College and Pinecrest Academy, Inc. entered into a  partnership to expand student education in STEM-focused careers to a unique K-16 model in Lake County.

Pinecrest Lakes Middle/High School, a tuition-free public charter school, currently has a limited number of students attending classes at the LSSC’s South Lake campus and earning college credit through dual enrollment at the College while benefitting from a college and career-focused education environment. These students will graduate high school prepared for college and a career, with vital communications and critical thinking skills as well as real-world training and experiences that LSSC will provide through the partnership. This partnership will provide students with a unique high school-college program.

Dr. Stanley M. Sidor leads Lake-Sumter State College with a focus on improving student experiences through innovation, value, and strategic partnerships with the community.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the book “Clermont: From Gem of the Hills to Choice of Champions” was presented to Dr. Sidor.
The book can be purchased at Cooper Memorial Library. For further information, visit THE PERFECT GIFT.
