Lake Minneola HS student Vidhi Patel receives the Ray Goodgame Outstanding Leader Award from Pat Caracciolo

The Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award honors students in south Lake. The award was named in memory of Goodgame, a devoted community leader who served as a dedicated community leader and the students, just like Ray are champions of the community. The honored high school recipient receives $1,000 award

Vidhi Patel, a student at Lake Minneola High School, is a two-time AP scholar with distinction achiever, Note: Only 10-percent of students nationwide receive this level of achievement by the time they graduate. He has held the position of president and vice-president of the Key Club and served as the captain for the Hi-Q team. The student has been actively involved in his school’s SGA as the Fundraising Chair, Homecoming Chair, Club Secretary and Senior Class Parliamentarian and tutors in his spare time.

Vidhi has displayed exceptional leadership as a member of Junior Friends of Library at Cooper Memorial Library and an outreach member of Wave Learning Festival where they aim to create a global community of peer-to-peer mentorship and collaboration.  When he is away from the classroom, he works as a cashier and expo worker for Over the Top Pita. Vidhi displays a healthy balance of school, volunteerism and work-life all while maintaining a GPA of 5.21.
