The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public meeting on Feb 24, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 137 E. Cherry Street, Groveland.  The meeting will be in regards to project plans on eastbound SR50/SR33 in the area of the Crittenden Street split.  The purpose of the project is to resurface the eastbound lanes and improve bicycle connectivity in the area. The meeting will be held to inform the residents and receive community feedback.

The project proposes to improve bicycle connectivity by adding a bicycle lane, which will require the removal of some on-street parking spaces. Additionally, the project would construct a bicycle through-lane next to the right turn lane at the Crittenden Street intersection.

Other planned safety improvements include lighting upgrades and reconstructing the curb line in some areas to introduce small lane shifts to help reduce traffic speed. New crosswalks are also being considered.  The project information and map are available AT THIS LINK:
