On February 25, the City of Mascotte Police Department (MPD) held their Coffee with a Cop event and introduced the new City Manager at the Rainbow Family Restaurant, located at 704 E Myers Blvd, Mascotte.  The event went from 9 am. to 11 am.  Those present had many good things to say about the City of Mascotte Police Department. Mascotte Police Officer Kenia Abreu acted as the host.  Linda Johnson the owner of The Rainbow Family Restaurant ensured that everyone was well fed and served. This is the latest in an ongoing series of outreach meetings presented by Mascotte.

Many of the MPD officers including Chief Eric Pedersen were present.  New City Manager, Annamarie Reno was also in attendance and was introduced to members of the community attending.  She commented, “so many times, at the administrative level we only hear complaints.  It was a pleasure to meet with so many Mascotte citizens and hear their stories of how well they feel our Police Department is doing.  I look forward to getting out in the community and meeting more of our citizens.”

Pam Jones, community relations representative from US Representative Daniel Webster’s office, David Colby CEO and president of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, former mayor Barbara Krull and other community leaders were also in attendance.  The City Council was further represented by former council person Sally Rayman and current member Ellen Cruz along with local business owner Roy Cruz. Other people attending the successful turnout were Pastor Feliz Ramirez – La Primera Iglesia Bautista de Mascotte, Chaplain Darrell Sheeley – Bay Lake Baptist Church, Pastor José B Mejia – Iglesia Pentecostal Jesus es mi Redentor,  Delrita Meisner, Executive Director of Be Free Lake,  Mr. & Mrs. Thurling – Groveland Motel,  Heidi Manaf – T-Mobile Home Expert,  Monica Gamez – Los Compadres Meat Market.    

Officer Abreu noted, “we had awesome feedback from the public.”
