At the CWC March, meeting Carolyn Pankalla with Serenity Orchards spoke about the horrors of human trafficking.  It is modern-day slavery and unfortunately, Florida ranks 3rd in the nation for trafficking victims.  It’s not just little girls, it’s young boys, women, men-all ages and races.  Carolyn explained how Serenity Orchards gives them a home with a family-like environment and a second chance at life.  But, they must have hope and feel loveable first.  This is where Serenity Orchards steps in………

On to other topics: April 1st is fast approaching….it is the deadline for graduating females from each of the local South Lake high schools to apply for the $1,000 scholarship offered at each school.  See each of the school’s Guidance Departments or download the application from www.clermontwomansclub.org.
 
The Clermont Woman’s Club is a Federated Woman’s Club chartered in 1927.  It is a non-profit service organization and by fundraising throughout the year, they are able to support international, national and local charities.  They meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 12:30 pm at their clubhouse 655 W Broome & 7th St., Clermont.  For information see www.clermontwomansclub.org
