The City of Groveland is excited to host part II of its centennial celebration series, Saturday, March 26th, and Sunday, March 27th, beginning at 11:00 am! This weekend’s celebration will highlight the years 1973-2022. February’s celebration focused on the years 1922-1972. Each festive day will include live music, a kids’ zone, food trucks, exhibitors, wine, beer, and spirits, and much more!

The following March Centennial events will take place at Lake David Park, located at 450 South Lake Avenue, Groveland, FL 34736.

Great Groveland Barefoot Laps Challenge: Saturday, March 26th, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Lake David. This new attraction is a thrilling take on the classic barefoot lap endurance contest. Guests can watch water-skiers circle Lake David at 42 mph on their bare feet to see who can do the most laps around the lake. Registration for participants begins at 10:00 AM on the day of the event. Saturday Live Performances: Saturday, March 26th, 11:00 am – 8:00 pm. Guests are invited to enjoy live performances from musical guests at the Lake David Amphitheater. The concert will feature Twinkle from 11:30 am- 12:45 pm, Slippery When Wet from 1:15 pm – 2:30 pm, James Otto from 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm, Randall Crawford from 4:45 pm- 6:00 pm, and finally Selwyn Birchwood from 6:30 pm – 7:45 pm.

Centennial Truck and Tractor Show: Saturday, March 26th, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm, at the Lake David Center parking lot. Truck and tractor enthusiasts across South Lake County are welcomed to admire the various makes and models competing for one of the 17 award classes to be given at this event. Admission is free for this event; registration to enter a truck or tractor in this event is $10.00. Interested applicants can register their vehicles by visiting www.djblubloods.com

Butterfly XT Yo-Yo Contest: Saturday, March 26th, starting at 3:15 pm. Guests are invited to watch yo-yo enthusiasts show off their special techniques at this event! Interested contestants must purchase a Butterfly XT brand yo-yo or have received one for competing in the Barefoot Waterski Contest. Pre-registration is only required for the 90-second freestyle yo-yo contest; the Butterfly XT group will have registration on-site under the Feet on Fire tent. To register in advance or see registration fees, visit feetonfirebarefoot.com. Awards for both the barefoot laps challenge and the yo-yo competition will be given tentatively at 5:30 pm.

Groveland Birthday Cupcakes: Saturday and Sunday, March 26th & 27th at 3:00 pm. All participants are welcome to join us as we wish Groveland a happy 100th birthday, celebrating with a free birthday cupcake! On Saturday, March 26th, these sweet treats will be distributed in front of the Lake David Amphitheatre and the Truck and Tractor Show parking area. On Sunday, March 27th, the distribution will be held in front of the amphitheater.

Fireworks Spectacular Show: Saturday, March 26th at 7:45 pm. Guests are invited to light up Lake David with us during our Saturday night finale. The fireworks can be seen from anywhere around our Lake David Park.

Sunday Live Performances: March 27th, 11:00 am – 6:00 pm. Guests are invited to enjoy live performances from musical guests at the Lake David Amphitheater. The concert will feature live performing artists starting with NFusion from 11:30 am – 12:45 pm, Fleetwood Max from 1:15 pm- 2:30 pm, Randy McNeeley from 3:00 pm- 4:15 pm, and Craig Campbell from 4:45 pm-6:00 pm.

The City of Groveland is honored to celebrate its charming 100th birthday with a series of fun, family-oriented festivities to be enjoyed by all in attendance.
