Robert “Bob” E. Shobe, 77, born April 16, 1944, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.

He was born in Cumberland, MD, graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1962; and received his Associate’s degree from Hagerstown Junior College. He spent the majority of his career doing what he loved, selling large trucks for Mack and International in Hagerstown MD and Orlando FL.

Bob loved to travel and, in his early years, he was an avid antique collector and an expert at restoring and refinishing antique furniture and repairing antique clocks. He’d travel all over Europe and Japan buying and selling antiques.  When he wasn’t traveling, he loved boating and fishing and teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish, water ski, kneeboard and jet ski on Lake Minnehaha.

Bob was an active Zeus in the Beta Theta, ESA chapter in Clermont, volunteering numerous hours working for the chapter and raising money for charities in his community. He and his fellow Zeus took the members of Beta Theta on many fun trips, where he would search for the best ice cream in the towns. He loved the ocean and traveled with the Beta Theta group to the BVI, Key West, and many seacoast islands to enjoy the coastal surroundings. Bob will be sorely missed by the group.

Bob was a gentle, kindhearted man and was dearly loved by all. He and his wife attended Real Life Christian Church. He was a member of the South Lake Elks #1848.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Catherine Shobe of Hagerstown MD; and his sisters, Jayne Smith, and Cindy Quinn.  He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rosetta and his dog Maggie; as well as his sister Sharon Trovinger of Cumberland MD, his children Cammy (Dennis) Shobe Hanley of Apache Junction AZ, Tricia (Mark) Bair of Hagerstown MD, Darren (Nicole) Cunningham of Sanford FL, and Jason (Jodi) Cunningham of Nashville TN, plus many loving grandchildren.

Services will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W Minneola Ave, Clermont on Saturday, April 2, 2022.  The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00 pm, the service will start at 2 pm.

A celebration of Bob will be hosted by the members of Beta Theta after the service at the home of Beta Theta sister Toni Bell Rescoe, 1139 W. Lakeshore Dr. Clermont, starting at 3:30 pm.
