The Orlando Health South Lake Scripts Pharmacy officially opened this week at 1920 Don Wickham Drive, Suite. 135 in Clermont. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was hosted by the South Lake Chamber of Commerce.
The Scripts Pharmacy is open to all patients and all members of the community. Orlando Health South Lake Hospital patients seen in the emergency department will benefit from the ability to fill prescriptions on-site before leaving the hospital campus.
This new pharmacy will also allow for prescription medications to be delivered directly to the bedside of discharged patients. The Meds to Bed service helps to reduce barriers for patients with limited transportation and is known to decrease avoidable readmissions due to lack of access to medication. In addition to patients and members of the community, Orlando Health team members benefit from the convenience of being able to fill one-time prescriptions and maintenance medications at their place of employment. Scripts Pharmacies accept most insurance companies including Optum, Medicaid and Caremark. The pharmacy is also open for in-store retail purchases.
Lance Sewell, Orlando Health South Lake Hospital President, noted, “We are excited for how the opening of the Orlando Health South Lake Scripts Pharmacy will provide our patients, team members and community with convenient, easier access to medications. This pharmacy will not only offer same-day service for prescriptions but will also enhance in-patient experience by allowing for the delivery of medications directly to the bedside. The opening of this pharmacy is one additional way that we can continue to meet the growing needs of the communities we serve.”
The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and is closed on weekends. The Scripts Pharmacy offers convenient access and expert service. With this new Clermont location, they now have 11 pharmacies located in and next to the hospitals and medical facilities throughout Central Florida. Two more new Scripts Pharmacy locations are already in the works. They have medication delivery kiosks in South Lake Hospital and South Seminole Hospital as well as a mail-order service and a Specialty Pharmacy.
