    Lake Sumter State College Offers Kids’ College Experiences

    Kids’ College at Lake-Sumter State College has a rich history of over 30 years providing an exciting, interactive, and academic program to children in Lake and Sumter Counties.

    Over the years, Kids’ College has expanded from a program exclusively for young children to a series of experiences beginning at the 1st grade and continuing through high school graduation.

    Kids’ College is an enriching academic summer experience for children entering 1st – 6th grades to expand their knowledge, learn new skills and have an opportunity for exploration and discovery.

    Programs are offered on LSSC campuses in Leesburg and Clermont throughout June and July.

    Xploration (6th through 9th Grades)

    This program is designed specifically for students entering 6th – 9th grades and offered during the summer months. Students will experience hands-on, interactive and challenging tracks that will put their skills to the test and provide them with a more advanced summer learning experience.

    Aides-in-Training (AIT) is designed for high school students entering 10th – 12th grades to earn public service hours while also receiving leadership training and experiences during the summer months. No prior experience is necessary, however an appropriate attitude is required.

    Program Aide (Recent High School Grads) – LSSC is looking for enthusiastic, attentive Program Aides to lead, support, and motivate students as they enjoy all that camp has to offer in the summer months. This program is intended for recent high school graduates that have previously attended one of the Youth Development programs. Applicants should be cheerful, responsible and possess strong leadership skills.   Info & Application
