The Ray Goodgame Scholarship honors students in the South Lake area who serve as champions for the community.

Keira Marie Votave, a senior at East Ridge High School, was honored as the South Lake Chamber of Commerce recipient of the Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award and presented with a check in the amount of $1,000 at the May breakfast meeting of the SLCC. The award was presented by Sheri Olson, Board Treasurer of South Lake Chamber of Commerce.

“Keira is an outstanding student who has exhibited unparalleled leadership throughout high school by serving in clubs such as President of Rho Kappa, member of the Student Government Association, National Honor Society, and National English Honor Society.

While she performed at a high level in various AP and honors classes, she was declared Captain of the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team and partook in the Varsity Girl’s Cross Country team. Even at this young age, she understands the significance of balancing work-life and volunteerism. In her spare time, Keira volunteers with “Give Kids the World,” “4ocean,” and “Dreamplex” while working as a hostess for Bob Evans. She was awarded MVP of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes during her junior year.

Keira has earned further recognitions such as AP Capstone Diploma, AP Scholar with Honors, and AP Scholar with Distinction, where only 10% of students nationwide receive this level of achievement by the time they graduate. Throughout her high school tenure, she holds a recorded GPA of 5.07!”
