The Lake County Division of Solid Waste’s vendor for residential trash and recycling collection, Waste Pro, is experiencing severe staffing shortages in the unincorporated South Lake County area and is diligently working to hire and train new staff as quickly as possible.

As a result of these challenges, residents may experience collection issues. Garbage and yard waste should be picked up on the normal day of the week. For the next 30 days, residents can put recycling in the trash cart or take it to a Lake County convenience center.

Residents can place any excess waste that does not fit in the garbage cart in the recycling cart. Waste Pro will pick up both cans in same routeResidents may not use bags or non-County carts.

The two closest convenience center locations for residents in the area are:

Log House Convenience Center
10435 Log House Rd.
Clermont, FL 34711
Open: Wednesday and Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Central Facility
13130 County Landfill Rd.
Tavares
Open:  Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Lake County is working with the hauler to resolve the issue as soon as possible. The hauler is being held accountable and will be fined for every route they do not collect. Residents who experience issues with their collection services should contact the Lake County Division of Solid Waste at garbagecollection@lakecountyfl.gov so that their issue may be tracked.
