That’s right!  The People’s Choice Dessert and Summer Drinks Challenge is happening on Saturday, August 6th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Clermont’s Historic Village.  Once again local vendors will be on hand to share their wonderful desserts and drinks with the whole family.  After you have had a chance to sample all the delicious treats, you will get to vote for your favorite dessert and for your favorite drink.

This free event is the perfect way to spend the afternoon on the last Saturday before school starts.  It is family friendly, and everyone will get a chance to vote—so, if mom likes one thing and dad likes another and junior likes something else, everyone will be happy because they all get a vote!

The Historic Village is conveniently located at 490 West Avenue on the shores of beautiful Lake Minneola and not far from the historic downtown shopping district.  The Village is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and has seven buildings to tour.  A donation of $5.00 is requested for every person over 12 when touring the buildings.

If you are interested in the history of Clermont or history in general, why not consider joining the Historical Society?  Membership is only $25 annually for an individual and $35 for a couple.  Our monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month in the Train Depot at the Historic Village.  The board meeting (open to the public) is at 6:00 PM.  Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 8th.
