GROVELAND – Groveland Works, a nonprofit, nonpartisan group of community leaders, will host a Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 6 pm at the E.L. Puryear Building in Groveland. The forum will feature six candidates running for three Groveland City Council seats, including the mayor, who will be asked questions by a moderator. The candidates also will have an opportunity to share their platforms.
“We believe it is important for citizens to have an unfiltered opportunity to learn about the people who will be representing them in their hometown,” said Jose Rubio Jr., Groveland Works Board Chair. “And we also believe it is important for candidates to have an opportunity to share their views in this kind of public forum.”
This event is a moderated question-and-answer format and is free and open to the public.
Darryl Owens, an award-winning journalist and associate vice president at Beacon College, will serve as moderator at this non-partisan, informational town hall meeting.
The public is encouraged to send suggested questions to: GrovelandWorksInfo@gmail.comor mail them to: Groveland Works, P.O. Box 452, Groveland, FL 34736. The Groveland Works board will choose the final questions for the forum.
