Chester R. Cable of Eustis, passed away on September 13, 2022 at the age of 83.  He passed in his home under the care of Hospice.  He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 15, 1938, the only son of Chester and Betty Cable.

After serving in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and the U.S. Army for 3 years, Chester started his career with the U.S. Postal Service.  He retired as Postmaster in Clermont, FL in 1992. 

Chester is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sandra; his daughter, Tanya Sorvoja; his two sons, Michael and Brian Cable (Lin Wolfe).  He has six grandchildren: Tara Scudder, Lea, Haley, Brittany, Amanda and Blayden Cable; three sisters: Mildred Schiehsl, Sandra Crispyn, and Bette Balan.  He is predeceased by father, Chester; his mother, Betty Wepprecht, and his son, Chester “Dean” Cable.

He will be laid to rest in the Florida National Cemetary in Bushnell with a service officiated by Jason McCreary, minister of Church of Christ, Mount Dora. The Cable Family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation for the loving and kindhearted care offered by Hospice Compassionate Care and all the unwavering support given by so many friends and neighbors.In lieu of flowers, the family request any donations be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, The Villages or the Church of Christ, 2719 W.
