The South Lake Tablet is proud to announce that Chuck Seaver has joined the team! Chuck will be keeping the community aware of many of the spotlights, highlights and events in the area. He will also have and will share stories of the rich history of the south Lake Community.

Chuck Seaver was born and has resided in and around the Clermont area his entire life. He grew up during a time when Clermont was still a small citrus industry-based town and a time when everyone knew everyone. Chuck graduated from Clermont High School and continued an already part-time career in law enforcement that began as a communications officer with the Clermont Police Department to a full-time career as a police officer in Orange County before returning to the Gem of the Hills in 2017.

He has enjoyed thirty-four years of marriage thus far with wife, Sherry. Together they celebrate five grown children, a daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law and four grandchildren.

Horticulture, local history research and the outdoors, in general, are Chuck’s favorite pastime hobbies. He has taken on the task from his late grandfather, Oakley Seaver of identifying and recognizing United States Veterans and First Responders at Oak Hill Cemetery. A task that has long been supported by the Kiwanis Club of Clermont.

Chuck enjoys civic service and serving the needs of the community. He currently serves his third term as president of the Kiwanis Club of Clermont. Chuck also serves on the City of Clermont’s Planning and Zoning Board, Cooper Memorial Library Association Board, The Neighborhood Center Board of Directors, the Clermont Historic Village Board of Directors, and the Building Blocks Ministries Board of Directors.

Serving others is part of Chuck’s DNA.  For him, it’s not about glitz and glamour but rather about getting the job done and truly trying to make a difference in someone’s life that may need a little help at the time. He looks forward to this next chapter in working with the South Lake Tablet family.
