A collaboration of two events created one BIG, Fun-family, Fall Festival on Saturday, October 22, on the grounds of the Cagan Crossings Community Library. (Four Corners).
The event was hosted by the Cagan Management Group, Inc. and included music by DJ Eddie, Crafters, Food Trucks, Children’s Activities, Pumpkin Patches, A Children’s Business Fair and a Costume Contest complete with prizes. The weather was fantastic and there was a wide variety of entertaining games, a bounce house and other fun things to do.
The Wizard of Oz family, princess gowns, Spiderman, Darth Vader, a police officer and many more characters came to officially kick off the traditional Halloween season with a costume contest. The costume contest was a big hit with over fifty-five entries, age ranging from toddler to teen. The contestants vied for eight categories from cutest to scariest and everything in between. The lucky winners received a basket full of treats and a spooktacular little trophy to commemorate the occasion.
The Children’s Business Fair partnered with the festival to host the first annual Kidzilla Business Fair. The partnership provided an opportunity for children that have an entrepreneurial interest to show off their talents and sharpen their business skills in real time.
An array of merchandise ranged from handcrafted jewelry, ornamental horticulture, baked goods, makeup artistry and other retail-related goodies. Participants learned valuable techniques and strategies that are required as successful business owners. The Business Fair was sponsored by Acton Academy, the Acton School of Business, and the generous support of donors and volunteers.
