Big box retailers who ramp up staffing for the holiday season appear to have fewer opportunities for job seekers this year. A recent report from the National Retail Federation indicates that retailers will be hiring anywhere from 450,000 to 600,000 seasonal workers – a significant drop from the 670,000 seasonal hires in 2021.

Inflation is a contributing factor and consumer spending habits are shifting.

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida (GICF) has dozens of job opportunities available for anyone looking for a job this holiday season – and beyond – as it sees more demand from shoppers at its local stores. The organization has entry-level to managerial-level openings that range across different sectors, including retail, warehouse, transportation and safety. Goodwill also offers generous, best-in-class benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, as well as a tuition scholarship program that launched in May of 2022. The scholarship program provides all part- and full-time employees who have been with GICF for at least 90 days, 100% pre-paid coverage of tuition and associated costs for any Florida-state public college or university, accredited technical college, or trade school.
