Clermont City Council selected five residents to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission during Tuesday’s council meeting. Twelve applicants were considered for the five seats coming available at the end of December.

This commission is made up of seven Clermont residents who volunteer to review land-use
requests and make recommendations to the city council on proposed development.

*To have 12 applicants with a desire to serve the City of Clermont says a lot about our community and the level of commitment felt by our residents,” City Manager Brian Bulthuis said. “The Council had a tough time selecting only five from so many qualified candidates.

Current members Vincent Niemiec and Max Krzyminski were selected to serve another term, along with new members Dieter Grube, Matthew Norton and Ariel Omar Guerrero. The two remaining seats, held by Dave Colby and Jane McAllister, have one remaining year on their appointments.

With the Council’s selection for the Planning and Zoning Commission, we will have several
openings on other City of Clermont advisory boards,” Bulthuis said. “We hope some of the
other, very qualified applicants will consider serving and they will certainly be given priority
consideration.
