A Florida-style snowstorm greeted the preschool students of Clermont’s Head Start School on East Desoto Street Friday morning.
The snowstorm provided a good cover for Mr. Grinch and his fun antics during the annual event that offers gifts, books, and plenty of entertainment for the children and their families. A visit with Santa in the Whoville Shack brought plenty of smiles as the students were greeted with games and a North Pole-style bounce house complete with Santa’s Elves and other volunteers.

Tricycles were provided for sleigh ride fun as the campus parking lot transformed into a holiday festival that helped kick off the holiday break for students and faculty. The annual event is supported by volunteers and community non-profit organizations such as the Kiwanis Clubs of Clermont and South Lake, as well as staff and family members.

“We are grateful for our school’s support from so many in the community”, says Director Aneesa Timmons. The school relies on volunteers and provides many options for ways to help and support the facility. Call 352-394-4289 for further information on volunteer opportunities.
