 Lecture, Concert, & the Opera

The Cooper Memorial Library will host several programs in February including a lecture on outdoor adventure, a Cooper Concert Series event, and the Friends of the Library Opera Club.

On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 3 p.m., author and outdoor enthusiast Christine Reed will give a lecture about nature, her journey to becoming a backpacker, and her book Alone in Wonderland.

As a part of the Cooper Concert Series, the Library will host Ravon Rhoden, one of the most innovative voices in modern reggae, on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 5 p.m. Born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica, his music pays tribute to genre legends like Bob Marley and Dennis Brown. Rhoden incorporates the steel drum in his unforgettable performances.

The Friends of the Library Opera Club will present The King and I on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 1:45 p.m. in Room 108. Attendees will watch and discuss the opera as part of this ongoing educational series.

All events are free and generously sponsored by the Friends of the Cooper Memorial Library. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
