Flag Coffee Corner, 756 West Montrose Street, Clermont celebrates its one-year anniversary this month. We stopped in for a visit this week with owners Gustavo, Laura and Federico Chavez. Chavez’s open layout style cafe makes for comfortable seating while offering a wide view of the downtown business area and pedestrian traffic. Free WiFi and numerous electrical outlets make the coffee cafe cell phone and laptop friendly to customers. Outdoor seating is also offered in the covered breezeway leading to the downtown art walk district.
The cafe continues to offer high-quality coffees, teas and drinks from across Central and South America including Brazil, Columbia, Guatemala, Honduras and Costa Rica. In addition to the wonderful beverage offerings, the cafe has added items to its delicious menu of fresh baked goods, consisting of cakes, pies, muffins, bagels and cheesecake selections.
An itinerary of family-friendly entertainment has become part of the cafe’s safe and healthy environment with feature programs such as Caffeinated Comedy Night, featuring clean-humor local comedians that perform every first and third Friday evening of the month. Free tango dance lessons and book author spotlights are also a sample of the cafe’s cozy setting.
Flags Coffee Corner has also hosted community events such as the Clermont Police Department’s “Coffee with a Cop” program and the South Lake Chambers’s “Coffee with the Chamber” program.
