The Reggae Cafe just opened at 302 West Orange Street, Groveland, and kicked off an exciting weekend of events with an official ribbon cutting on Friday, February 24th.
The Cafe hosted a One Love Reggae Festival on Saturday, February 25th at Lake David Park, with performances including a special appearance by Gramps Morgan, a Grammy Award winner and Marion Hall, formerly Lady Saw, also a Grammy Award winner.
The cafe also hosted a Reggae Brunch on Sunday, February 26th. The menu included a wide selection of traditional Jamaican dishes and American favorites.
The Reggae Cafe will be serving certified 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee, which is another accolade of Jamaica. The coffee berries are grown at high altitudes in the Blue Mountains in Jamaica, which adds to the length of time needed for bean maturity and to its rich flavor.
Indoor and outdoor seating is offered. The outdoor seating area is nestled in a cozy setting of landscape varieties that include some native Jamaican ornamental foliage. The outdoor area also has a relaxing view of Lake David.
