The Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra will soon present their March Shamrocks & Sunshine Concert on March 9 & 10 here in Central Florida. Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra always brings Lake County a treasure of talent and culture in the many diverse themed concerts.

The FLSO concert will begin with John Williams’ music from the film ‘Far and Away” that stared Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise before sharing the classic Irish song, Danny Boy. They will perform four movements from Leroy Anderson’s popular Irish Suite. The first half of the program will continue with “Shenandoah” and with “Lord of the Dance” from “River Dance”, that was made popular by Michael Flatley.

The second half of the FLSO March concerts will feature Leroy Anderson’s “Fiddle-Faddle. Concert Master and violin virtuoso, Konstantin Dimitrov will lead with the masterpiece for violin “Intro & Rondo Capriccioso” by the French master, Camille Saint-Saens.  The famous “O Sole Mio” will be sung by internationally acclaimed tenor Marco Romano. The concert will continue into “Cinema Paradiso” by Ennio Morricone. Dimitrov will return with exciting home town fiddling in “Orange Blossom Special”. Principal guest conductor Carl Topilow of the Cleveland Pops, will intensify the romantic nostalgia with his performance of a “Glenn Miller Medley”, using his green clarinet. The evening will culminate with “America the Beautiful”. These highly spirited March concerts will be presented by talented professional symphony musicians from around the world.

Konstantin Dimitrov: Having performed all over the world, Virtuoso Bulgarian violinist Konstantin Dimitrov continues to anchor the orchestra with brilliant performances since 2006 as their Concert Master and a primary soloist.

Carl Toplow

Carl Topilow is the Florida Lakes Orchestra’s principal guest conductor. Currently in his 26th year as the Founding Conductor of the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and he frequently performs on the podium with his signature clarinet. He is also Conductor of the Firelands Symphony Orchestra in Sandusky, Ohio and Conductor Laureate of the National Repertory Orchestra. Topilow, who has appeared as a guest conductor for more than 125 orchestras in 37 states and 12 foreign countries, while he continues to perform as a clarinetist with orchestras and recitals.

Lake County Concert Locations: On Thursday, March 9, the Shamrocks & Sunshine Concert will be held at the Living Drama Theatre located on Highway 441 at Eustis Plaza in the back corner of 431 Plaza Drive in Eustis, Florida. The Friday, March 10 performance will be held at the Minneola City Hall located at: 800 US-27 North, Minneola, FL 34715. Both concerts will begin at 7:30 PM. Attendees are urged to arrive early for their choice of upfront seating close to the musicians.

2023 Season Finale: The concluding concerts of Season 18 will be two Spring Pops Concerts conducted by Paul Hostetter here in Central Florida on April 20 & 21. FLSO will present these concerts on Thursday at “The Cross“, formerly known as Lake Receptions in the Mount Dora area. The South Lake Concert will be presented at the Minneola City Hall on Friday.

Florida Lakes Symphony: In 2005, the internationally respected French classical concert pianist and composer Guy Saint-Clair came to Lake County from their home in Europe with his wife and portrait/wildlife artist Audrey Sanders. That same year, they established the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra. They have hosted a series of concerts with talented guest conductors and soloists from around the world. With the guiding light of the Founder Guy Saint-Clair as well as with supportive artistic and administrative skills of the co-founder and as Executive Director Audrey Sanders, the FLSO was established as a beautiful musical force on the professional Central Florida cultural scene
