What could be better than a nice steak dinner served by your favorite Clermont Police Officer at an event to raise money for the Special Olympics Florida? If that sounds good to you, then Texas Roadhouse located at 2457 S. U.S. Highway 27 is the place to be Wednesday, March 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. for the next Tip-A-Cop adventure.
Tip-A-Cop is an event designed by Special Olympics that pairs local law officers with popular restaurants to raise money and awareness of the Law Enforcement Torch Run program that benefits Special Olympics Florida.
Headquartered in Clermont, Special Olympics Florida is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that provides year-round sports training and competitions for 51,000 adults and children with intellectual disabilities at no cost to the athlete or their family.
The organization promotes physical fitness, self-esteem and life skills needed to be productive, respected and contributing members of the community. Clermont Police Chief Charles Broadway and several police officers will work with the professional wait staff at Texas Roadhouse to greet, seat and serve restaurant patrons. In addition to tips, Texas Roadhouse will also donate a percentage of food sales during the event. “Time and time again, Texas Roadhouse has stepped up and offered to host this very worthwhile, popular and entertaining event,” Clermont Police Chief Charles Broadway said. “This partnership between the Clermont Police Department and this local business is just one more example of what makes Clermont such a great place.”
