The Clermont Police Department and Texas Roadhouse teamed up on Wednesday, March 15th to host the “Tip-a-Cop” fundraiser in support of the Special Olympics Florida, Inc. Police officers were on hand to serve as greeters, servers, well-wishers and ambassadors to the Special Olympics cause while donating 100% of their tips to the Olympics organization. Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% of total food purchases during the event. 
 
The mission of the Special Olympics Florida is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities who wish to participate, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other special Olympics athletes, and the community. 
 
Special Olympics Florida serves over 60,000 athletes and offers training and competition in a variety of team and individual sports, with the help of over 38,000 dedicated coaches and volunteers statewide.
