Cereal Drive & Shred Event will impact Community & Assist Nonprofit

The REALTORS® Association of Lake & Sumter Counties is overjoyed to organize a cereal drive to benefit the local nonprofit, Lake Cares Food Pantry. RALSC, who recently opened a second office in Clermont on February 2nd, now has its sights on positively contributing to the community they serve with a goal of collecting 1,000 cereal boxes.

Lake Cares Food Pantry is an independent community food pantry that provides food and other necessary items directly to those in need in Lake County, Florida. In 2022 alone, Lake Cares Food Pantry served 67,329 individuals and distributed approximately 25,000 pounds of food each week. According to the Director of Development, Ruthie Haffner, “Lake Cares is more than just a food pantry, our mission is to feed the body, educate the mind, and lift the spirit of all individuals.

RALSC is asking the community for their support in reaching this goal. The last day to bring in cereal boxes is April 26th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm where the Association will simultaneously be holding a Shred Event at the Clermont Office, 1655 E Hwy 50, Clermont, FL 34711. The public is invited to attend this free event where community members can shred confidential documents and safely recycle electronics through professional services such as Lock Tight Shredding and Quicksilver Technology, in addition to donating cereal boxes for Lake Cares Food Pantry.
