On Saturday, April 8, New Vision held its 8th annual Sensational Egg Hunt. Nearly 50 kids of all ages and abilities, and their families, experienced a truly sensory Easter egg hunt with hundreds of beeping eggs and Bob, the Easter Bunny’s blind brother!

This year there was a lot of activities to engage all the senses, including blind jelly bean tasting, scented Easter bag-sket decorating, pin the egg on, bunny for your senses of touch and equilibrioception (balance), and ring toss to channel proprioception (your sense of movement). There was a sensory egg hunt: kids stuck their hands into buckets labeled Cold, Squishy, Soft, Rough, and Slimy to use their senses of touch and thermoception (differentiating between hot and cold) to find hidden eggs.

All kids hopped away with Easter basket goodies, thanks to Advocating 4 Kids and Sharon Conrad.
